About Us
Alderman Road is proof that sometimes the best things begin with a chance conversation and a shared urge to make music—no pressure, no grand plan, just the simple enjoyment of playing together.
Formed in 2025, the band came together when Rob (drums), Dave (bass) and Mike (keys) crossed paths at a local jam night at The White Hart. Between busy lives and full schedules, none were looking to commit to the demands of a traditional band—but all felt the same pull back to music. What started as a casual idea quickly turned into something more when they realised not only that they each played, but that they shared a similar outlook: make music for the love of it and see where it leads.
Early rehearsals took place in Mike’s kitchen and Dave’s conservatory, where the trio began rediscovering their musical roots. With Mike—an accomplished keyboard player and resident tech wizard—hitting record, it didn’t take long before a handful of songs began to take shape. What started as informal sessions soon revealed a natural chemistry, with each rehearsal effortlessly building into something that sounded, quite simply, right.
The missing piece fell into place when Sophie joined. Introduced through friends, her background in Musical Theatre brought a confident stage presence and a clear, expressive vocal style to the mix. From the first rehearsal, her voice lifted the sound and completed the lineup—everything clicked instantly.
Together, Alderman Road have developed a distinctive approach. With keys at the heart of the music rather than guitars, familiar songs are reimagined with a fresh, vibrant feel. Blending strong vocals, tight rhythm and inventive arrangements, the band create performances that feel both recognisable and uniquely their own.
What defines Alderman Road as much as their sound is their spirit. There’s no pressure, just a shared enjoyment of making music whenever they can, fitting it around everyday life while making every rehearsal count. Yet from those relaxed beginnings has come a growing set, packed with crowd-pleasing favourites which are sure to surprise and delight the audience.
With performances lined up at events including the Sausage & Beer Festival, Melton Beer Festival and the Sound Corner Festival, Alderman Road are ready to bring their sound to wider audiences.
